Summary:
Women’s safety has become one of the issues that have been given special priority by
the Vietnam Women’s Union in recent years. Specifcally, two consecutive years (2019 and 2020)
are identifed as safe years for women and children by the Vietnam Women’s Union with three
main contents: Safety for women and children in the family; safety for women and children in
public places, at schools, at the workplace, in the society, in the context of the environment and
in response to climate change; safety on the environmental network and safety in the feld of
food hygiene. Te paper is writen based on the data of the ministerial level research: “Safety for
women in cyberspace: Proposing solutions for safe practice” conducted by the Vietnam Women’s
Academy in 2021. It is mainly carried out by the method of questionnaire survey and combined
with in-depth interviews in 3 provinces of Quang Binh, An Giang, and Hanoi. Te paper shows
that a higher percentage of women in the survey area expresses their high agreement about the
benefts and negatives of cyberspace, and awareness of risks in work and life in cyberspace. Tere is
a signifcant difference in their awareness according to 2 criteria: age group and occupation group.
