RESOURCE MOBILIZATION AND CONNECTION ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES – FROM SOCIAL WORK PERSPECTIVE: THE STUDY IN THANH SƠN TOWN, THANH SON DISTRICT, PHU THO PROVINCE

People with disabilities are one of the disadvantaged groups in society that are always cared for and supported. Over the years, although there have been many supportive policies and interventions, people with disabilities still face difficulties and challenges in life. This paper analyzes how to support people with disabilities according to the social work approach. The results show that the connection of resources has been carried out in the study area; which is also highly appreciated by people with disabilities. However, there are still some resources that have not been properly mobilized due to both subjective and objective reasons. Additionally, although some resources have been mobilised for people with disabilities, these resources have not brought many benefits to people with disabilities. Therefore, applying knowledge and skills as well as enhancing the role of social workers are very important in mobilizing to connect more resources as well as helping people with disabilities use those resources most effectively.
